The Department of Small Matters exists so that no small matter need remain entirely unwitnessed.

This Office receives grievances, commendations, public conduct observations and related matters that require formal acknowledgement. Each accepted matter receives due attention and is entered on the record as a formal certificate.

Let It Be Known is an app for recording small everyday matters: a grievance, a commendation, or a point of public conduct. You describe the matter and receive a formal certificate acknowledging it. A certificate stays in your own file unless you agree to the public filing terms, which enter it on the public registry. Signing in is optional, and exists so your certificates can be recovered on another device.

Claimants are asked to be patient and precise. Every matter, however small, is given its due attention. The Counter is open at all hours, every day.

The claimant states that one clearly labelled lunch was placed within the communal refrigerator and, at the appointed hour, found absent. The Department finds the matter precisely stated and wholly worthy of formal recognition.
